A heat exchanger is a compact equipment designed to provide efficient heat transfer between two fluids. It consists of a pack of corrugated metal plates with portholes for the passage of the fluids. The plate pack is assembled between a fix frame plate and a movable pressure plate, which are compressed using tightening bolts. The plates are fitted with a gasket that seals the channels and directs the fluids into alternate paths.
With its corrugated plates, the heat exchanger promotes fluid turbulence and supports the plates against differential pressure. This design optimizes heat transfer by providing a large surface area for the exchange of heat between the fluids. The frame plate and pressure plate are suspended from an upper carrying bar and located by a lower guiding bar, ensuring stability.
