A heat exchanger is a crucial component in various industries, designed to facilitate efficient heat transfer between two fluids. Our gasketed plate-and-frame heat exchangers (GPHEs) are specifically engineered to provide superior heat transfer in a compact and space-saving design, outperforming traditional shell-and-tube heat exchangers.
The plate pack of our heat exchanger consists of corrugated metal plates with portholes, allowing the two fluids to pass through for effective heat transfer. The plates are assembled between a fixed frame plate and a movable pressure plate, which are compressed using tightening bolts. A gasket seals the channels between the plates, directing the fluids into alternate channels. The number of plates is determined based on factors such as flow rate, fluid properties, pressure drop, and temperature program.
The corrugations on the plates promote fluid turbulence and provide support against differential pressure. The frame plate and pressure plate are suspended from an upper carrying bar and located by a lower guiding bar, both fixed to a support column. The connections are located in the frame plate, facilitating single or multiple passes of the fluids within the unit.
